MIDI Labs Brewing Services
Contaminated beer creates off flavors that can cost you money and permanently damage your brand.
We can help identify any contaminant that can affect the quality of beer. Most contaminants will produce off-flavors, acids and non-desirable aromas. They can also produce unintentionally hazy beers and films and may compete with the production strain for essential nutrients–this can result in stuck fermentation or over-attenuated beers.

OUR SERVICES FOR BREWING:
Contaminant ID
MIDI Labs can help you identify contaminants that affect your product quality. Microbial Quality Control will help you detect problems sooner and trace their source so you can eliminate them.
TPC/ Viable Cell Count
A highly accurate yeast count is needed to pitch exactly enough yeast into the clarified beer along with the appropriate amount of sugar to achieve the desired increase in CO2 in the package. We can assist you in determining precise concentrations for product consistency.
Storing Yeast Samples for verification
Proper yeast storage can save you money, MIDI labs can help you store your yeast strains in addition to identification and verification services.
MALDI-TOF
Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization–Time-Of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) provides a fast and cost-effective way to classify and ID brewing yeast to a specific beer type. It can characterize yeast strains of Saccharomyces along their sub-proteome spectra showing their relationships, application potential and physiological status.
Get ahead of the game

Monthly package
Monthly testing to detect and identify contaminants.

Gold
For medium-sized breweries with in-house taprooms.
Biweekly package
Monthly testing to detect and identify contaminants.

Platinum
For small- to medium-sized breweries with in-house taprooms.
Weekly package
Weekly testing to detect and identify contaminants.
*Environmental contaminant baseline testing is required at the start of all packages to establish the current level of contaminants and the best locations for open-air testing.
